MEMO FROM GOD

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help. If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. It will be addressed in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold on to it or remove it. Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem. If it is a situation that you think you are capable of handling, please consult me in prayer to be sure that it is the proper resolution. Because I do not sleep nor do I slumber, there is no need for you to lose any sleep. Rest my child. If you need to contact me, I am only a prayer away.
Be happy with what you have:
Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight, just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair: There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone badly, think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering  what is life all about, asking, "What is my purpose?", be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember: things could be worse. You could be them!
Should you decide to send this to a friend; you might brighten someone's day.

DOES GOD STILL SPEAK TO HIS PEOPLE?

A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study.  The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice.

The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to His people?"

After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.  Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.

It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God..  If you still speak to people, speak to me.  I will listen.  I will do my best to obey."

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, stop and buy a gallon of milk.  He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?"  He didn't get a reply and started on toward home.  But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk.  The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.

"Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk."  It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience.  He could always use the milk.

He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home.  As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, "Turn down that street."

This is crazy he thought and drove on pass the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street.  At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.  Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, remember I....He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop.  He pulled over to the curb and looked around.  He was in a semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either.

The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed.

Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street."  The young man looked at the house.  It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep.  He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.

"Lord, this is insane.  Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid."  Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk.  Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk.  If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient.  I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here."  He walked across the street and rang the bell.  He could hear some noise inside.  A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?"  Then the door opened before the young man could get away.  The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt.  He looked like he just got out of bed.  He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem to happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is it?"  The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hall way speaking loudly in Spanish.  Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen.  The man was following her holding a baby.  The baby was crying.  The man had tears streaming down his face.  The man began speaking, speaking and half crying, "We were just praying.  We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money.  We didn't have any milk for our baby.  I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk."

His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I asked him to send an Angel with some.  Are you an Angel?"  The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand.  He turned and walked back towards his car and the tears were streaming down his face.

He knew that God still answers prayers and that God still speaks to His people.

Sight to the Blind.

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed." - Luke 4:18

God sent Jesus so the blind could have their sight recovered. This was both a physical and a spiritual truth. Some people were physically blind or suffered from other physical ailments. Jesus fulfilled this promise when He healed "every disease and sickness among the people" (Matthew 4:23).
But Jesus also came to open our eyes spiritually. He came to help us grasp the truths of God's Kingdom, to understand His principles, and to have the power to overcome our problems.
And Jesus came to free us from the hold of sin and release the abundant blessings He's prepared for us in His Kingdom. He came that we might see the possibility of living by faith and believing God for supernatural breakthroughs.
Many Christians are not physically blind, but are crippled by emotional, mental, or spiritual blindness. Their minds are wrapped in a mist.
Some are puffed up with pride and fail to exercise faith in God. They believe what they see with their natural eyes and reject the truth that, with God, all things are possible. Many simply think like the people around them and don't seek God's wisdom.
Today, ask God to help you see His truths more clearly than ever before. Ask Him to open your eyes to the full potential of His Kingdom. Seek a revelation of His power in your life.
Don't limit God or think like people in the world who don't know Him. Remember that God sent Jesus to help you see the world and your life more clearly. Jesus came to show you the way and help you see life from His perspective.

Liberty to the Captives

"He opened the book and found the place where it was written, 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to...proclaim release to the captives.'" - Luke 4:17-18 NASB
Many things can hold us captive-literally controlling our minds, shaping our thoughts, dominating our schedules, and determining our values.
We can be obsessed with the lusts of the flesh or the craving for pleasure. We may be in the grip of bad habits. We can be trapped in abusive relationships. We can be wracked by emotional trauma or stress. We can feel the weight of financial need. We can be overwhelmed by pressures on the job. We can face challenges for which we feel inadequate. We can be controlled by fears or anxiety, worry or doubt.
If any of these situations describe you, remember what Jesus said that day in Nazareth during the opening days of His ministry. He declared that He had been sent to free us from anything that controls us! This means freedom and liberty for every kind of captivity-mental and physical, emotional and financial.
Today, ask God to show you if anything has captured your thoughts and emotions. If you are held captive by habits or thoughts, realize that Jesus came to set you free!
You might feel that you're imprisoned in a job, or you may feel controlled by a financial burden or by emotional turmoil. No matter what the troubling situation may be, realize that Jesus was sent to release you from bondage.
If you are under the weight of guilt, doubt, or worry, realize that Jesus came to free you, forgive you, and pardon you. He can make your sins disappear, as if they had never been committed.
Don't allow yourself to remain a prisoner. Jesus came to give you liberty and freedom. Allow Him to set you free...right now! He is able, ready, and waiting for you to turn to Him.
