Mother’s Love

Mother’s Love (True Story)

This is a true story of Mother’s Sacrifice during the China Earthquake. After the Earthquake had subsided, when the rescuers reached the ruins of a young woman’s house, they saw her dead body through the cracks. But her pose was somehow strange that she knelt on her knees like a person was worshiping; her body was leaning forward, and her two hands were supporting by an object. The collapsed house had crashed her back and her head. With so many difficulties, the leader of the rescuer team put his hand through a narrow gap on the wall to reach the woman’s body. He was hoping that this woman could be still alive. However, the cold and stiff body told him that she had passed away for sure. He and the rest of the team left this house and were going to search the next collapsed building. For some reasons, the team leader was driven by a compelling force to go back to the ruin house of the dead woman. Again, he knelt down and used his hand through the narrow cracks to search the little space under the dead body. Suddenly, he screamed with excitement,” A child! There is a child!

The whole team worked together; carefully they removed the piles of ruined objects around the dead woman. There was a 3 month’s old little boy wrapped in a flowery blanket under his mother’s dead body. Obviously, the woman had made an ultimate sacrifice for saving her son. When her house was falling, she used her body to make a cover to protect her son. The little boy was still sleeping peacefully when the team leader picked him up. The medical doctor came quickly to exam the little boy. After he opened the blanket, he saw a cell phone inside the blanket. There was a text message on the screen. It said,” If you can survive, you must remember that I love you.” This cell phone was passing around from one hand to another. Everybody that read the message wept. ” If you can survive, you must remember that I love you.” Such is the mother’s love for her child! A mother's love is instinctual, unconditional, and forever, Mother's love is beyond any comparison.  When it comes to love, Mom's the word. For all the ways you've helped me grow I want to say I love you so. In Bible Exodus 20:12 says; “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”

Ready for God's Message

Ready for God's Message

"He began teaching in their synagogues...They were saying, 'Is this not Joseph's son?'...He said, 'Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown'...All the people in the synagogue were filled with rage." - Luke 4:15-28

The people in Jesus' hometown failed to receive His message. Why? Because they were not listening to His words. Instead, they were thinking about His background and family. They wouldn't accept Him for who He truly was, because He was speaking in "his hometown."
These men and women were not open to the move of God. Their minds were closed. They had made up their minds.
They would not even consider that God could give them new revelation and insight. Their ideas were so fixed that they were unwilling to lay aside their prejudices and preconceived ideas.
Fortunately, the reaction was different in Capernaum. There the people actually listened to Jesus and "were amazed at His teaching, for His message was with authority" (v. 32).
How often do people today make the same mistakes as the people of Nazareth? God wants to speak to them, but too often they're caught up in the reactions of the flesh. Instead of listening for God's voice, they're preoccupied with earthly matters.
Many of these people are bound up by prejudices. Others focus on human elements or their surroundings. Some are distracted by a person's style, background, or appearance.
Don't let this happen to you! In every situation, seek to be open to the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to guide you, teach you, warn you, and speak to you.
Right now, submit your life fully to God, and ask Him to help you be sensitive to His Spirit. Ask Him to help you hear and obey His Word.
As the Lord leads you, lay aside your prejudices and preconceived ideas. Give Him permission to speak a fresh word and reveal new insights and deeper truths to you.

FOUR WIVES

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies.  He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.  He also loved the 3rd wife very much.  He's very proud of her and always wanted to show her off to his friends.  However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men. He too, loved his 2nd wife.  She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.  Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household.  However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon.  He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me.  But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!  Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you.  Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"  "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word. The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart.

The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life.  Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"  "No!" replied the 3rd wife.  "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!"  The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out.  Now I need your help again.  When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"  "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife.  "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave."  The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you.  I'll follow you no matter where you go."  The merchant looked up and there was his first wife.  She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition.  Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have!"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives.  The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.  Our 3rd wife?  Our possessions, status and wealth.  When we die, they all go to others.  The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.  The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material wealth and sensual pleasure.  Guess what?  It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go.  Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament.

The Lord's Favor

"He opened the book and found the place where it was written, 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed me...to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.'"

- Luke 4:17-19

The time had come! Jesus was sent into the world in the "fullness of time" (Galatians 4:4). At just the right time!
He came to proclaim that the time had come for God's people to experience His favor. God was opening a new chapter. This was the "acceptable year of the Lord" (NKJV), the time of His favor.
The word translated "proclaim" literally means to declare something openly, as if it already has been done. Jesus was not describing a theory, but a fact. The fact was that He had been anointed. He had been sent to let people know that this was the time for God's favor.
In the same way, Jesus was sent to let us know that the acceptable year of the Lord has taken place. When Jesus came, He wanted us to know that the time had come to experience God's favor.
He came to preach the Gospel to those in need, to heal those who are brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to those who are captives, to help those who are blind to see again, and to provide freedom for those who are oppressed.
These are the things Jesus came to do in our lives. This is why He was sent!
Today, ask God to open your mind and heart. Let Jesus be the Healer of your soul. Let Him liberate you from anything that imprisons your life.
Cry out to Him for those you know who might be broken or confused, those who might be weak in spirit or body. Believe that God can give them the strength and freedom they need.
Declare that Jesus is your Lord. Allow Him to do His work and so bring the full scope of His anointing into your life right now.

MEMO FROM GOD

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help. If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. It will be addressed in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold on to it or remove it. Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem. If it is a situation that you think you are capable of handling, please consult me in prayer to be sure that it is the proper resolution. Because I do not sleep nor do I slumber, there is no need for you to lose any sleep. Rest my child. If you need to contact me, I am only a prayer away.
Be happy with what you have:
Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight, just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair: There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone badly, think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering  what is life all about, asking, "What is my purpose?", be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember: things could be worse. You could be them!
Should you decide to send this to a friend; you might brighten someone's day.

DOES GOD STILL SPEAK TO HIS PEOPLE?

A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study.  The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice.

The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to His people?"

After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.  Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.

It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God..  If you still speak to people, speak to me.  I will listen.  I will do my best to obey."

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought, stop and buy a gallon of milk.  He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?"  He didn't get a reply and started on toward home.  But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk.  The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.

"Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk."  It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience.  He could always use the milk.

He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home.  As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, "Turn down that street."

This is crazy he thought and drove on pass the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street.  At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.  Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, remember I....He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop.  He pulled over to the curb and looked around.  He was in a semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either.

The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed.

Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street."  The young man looked at the house.  It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep.  He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.

"Lord, this is insane.  Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid."  Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk.  Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk.  If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient.  I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here."  He walked across the street and rang the bell.  He could hear some noise inside.  A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?"  Then the door opened before the young man could get away.  The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt.  He looked like he just got out of bed.  He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem to happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is it?"  The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hall way speaking loudly in Spanish.  Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen.  The man was following her holding a baby.  The baby was crying.  The man had tears streaming down his face.  The man began speaking, speaking and half crying, "We were just praying.  We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money.  We didn't have any milk for our baby.  I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk."

His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I asked him to send an Angel with some.  Are you an Angel?"  The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand.  He turned and walked back towards his car and the tears were streaming down his face.

He knew that God still answers prayers and that God still speaks to His people.

Sight to the Blind.

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed." - Luke 4:18

God sent Jesus so the blind could have their sight recovered. This was both a physical and a spiritual truth. Some people were physically blind or suffered from other physical ailments. Jesus fulfilled this promise when He healed "every disease and sickness among the people" (Matthew 4:23).
But Jesus also came to open our eyes spiritually. He came to help us grasp the truths of God's Kingdom, to understand His principles, and to have the power to overcome our problems.
And Jesus came to free us from the hold of sin and release the abundant blessings He's prepared for us in His Kingdom. He came that we might see the possibility of living by faith and believing God for supernatural breakthroughs.
Many Christians are not physically blind, but are crippled by emotional, mental, or spiritual blindness. Their minds are wrapped in a mist.
Some are puffed up with pride and fail to exercise faith in God. They believe what they see with their natural eyes and reject the truth that, with God, all things are possible. Many simply think like the people around them and don't seek God's wisdom.
Today, ask God to help you see His truths more clearly than ever before. Ask Him to open your eyes to the full potential of His Kingdom. Seek a revelation of His power in your life.
Don't limit God or think like people in the world who don't know Him. Remember that God sent Jesus to help you see the world and your life more clearly. Jesus came to show you the way and help you see life from His perspective.

Liberty to the Captives

"He opened the book and found the place where it was written, 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to...proclaim release to the captives.'" - Luke 4:17-18 NASB
Many things can hold us captive-literally controlling our minds, shaping our thoughts, dominating our schedules, and determining our values.
We can be obsessed with the lusts of the flesh or the craving for pleasure. We may be in the grip of bad habits. We can be trapped in abusive relationships. We can be wracked by emotional trauma or stress. We can feel the weight of financial need. We can be overwhelmed by pressures on the job. We can face challenges for which we feel inadequate. We can be controlled by fears or anxiety, worry or doubt.
If any of these situations describe you, remember what Jesus said that day in Nazareth during the opening days of His ministry. He declared that He had been sent to free us from anything that controls us! This means freedom and liberty for every kind of captivity-mental and physical, emotional and financial.
Today, ask God to show you if anything has captured your thoughts and emotions. If you are held captive by habits or thoughts, realize that Jesus came to set you free!
You might feel that you're imprisoned in a job, or you may feel controlled by a financial burden or by emotional turmoil. No matter what the troubling situation may be, realize that Jesus was sent to release you from bondage.
If you are under the weight of guilt, doubt, or worry, realize that Jesus came to free you, forgive you, and pardon you. He can make your sins disappear, as if they had never been committed.
Don't allow yourself to remain a prisoner. Jesus came to give you liberty and freedom. Allow Him to set you free...right now! He is able, ready, and waiting for you to turn to Him.

Power and Priorities

"When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she rose and destroyed all the royal offspring. But Jehosheba...took Joash the son of Ahaziah...They hid him from Athaliah, and he was not put to death." - 2 Kings 11:1-2

Athaliah was addicted to power. Her grandfather was Omri, one of Israel's more evil kings. Her parents, Ahab and Jezebel, were even more notorious. In fact, Jezebel perhaps was the most evil queen in Israel's history, refusing to relinquish power long after Ahab died. She was defiant, even in her death.

As part of a political alliance, Athaliah was given in marriage to Jehoram, Judah's future king. Her son, Ahaziah, became king at Jehoram's death.

But, following her mother's example, Athaliah would not give up power when Ahaziah died. She was so ruthless that she had her own grandchildren killed. Joash (her grandson) was spared only because he was hidden and protected by the priest, Jehoiada.

Athaliah could have had a positive influence, but instead, she dedicated her life to gaining and keeping power. In the end, she left a legacy of selfishness and fear. She died alone, unloved, and the people "rejoiced" at her death.

Over time, many have followed her example-self-centered leaders of nations, businesses, and families, who are addicted to power and control.
The story of Athaliah reminds us of Jesus' teaching that "whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."
If we really want God's blessings, we must be servants. We need to deny ourselves and take up our cross each day and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24-25). We need to be ready and willing to train and disciple others.

Don't waste your life relentlessly holding on to power or building a personal kingdom. Seek to serve Jesus. Seek the things that will last, and be a blessing to others.
